Cheers to 29 Years at Poppycock’s!

Our desire is to culture a unique dining experience where exciting, fresh flavors entice your palette and senses. At Poppycock’s, our Executive Chef Chris Day focuses on fresh local ingredients to create his artfully elevated cuisine.

IMG_3969Our menu changes seasonally and we take great pride in creating delicious daily specials including a vegetarian dish rightfully deemed the “Green Plate”. We also offer many other vegetarian, vegan & gluten free options in addition to an eclectic menu featuring playful appetizers, salads, hand-helds, seafood, steak, local fish, pastas and more. Our current menu features favorites such as the Watermelon Burrata Salad, Beet Risotto, fresh locally caught Parmesan Whitefish and a particularly delicious Grilled Salmon with house made harissa, roasted cauliflower, romanesco, and whipped feta.

Our focus on fresh is emphasized by our cocktail program where Lead Bartender AnnMarie Hickman creates amazing and unique craft cocktails, martinis and other tasty libations. She especially excels in showcasing the abundant local fruits & herbs available in our region to develop house made syrups, shrubs & infusions which will enhance IMG_5342your beverage experience. This summer our adult sno-cones are a crowd favorite featuring flavors from Peaches & Cream made with local Gypsy vodka or Lemon Blueberry with New Holland blueberry gin and limoncello cream pour over to a frozen rift on a Pimm’s Cup with fresh cucumber juice, gin, Pimm’s No.1, lemon and Prosecco. Our cocktails are fun, whimsical and inspired by the freshest ingredients available. In addition, we offer eight rotating taps for local beers and hard ciders and are proud to serve many of the local wines that adorn this region.

IMG_1903After opening our doors in 1989, we have made beautiful downtown Traverse City our home for 29 years and have shared so much with the amazing people of this area. It is truly our locals who encourage us to strive for excellence and continue to grow in pursuing the love of food and making our guests genuinely happy! We love what we do and are so blessed to be able to create in such an amazing place and community. It is also a joy to share our creations, inspired by the many local products, ingredients, wine, beer, cider and distilleries, with our guests vacationing in and around Traverse City. Thank you for being a part of our lives and enabling us to do what we love, making great food and great memories. Happy 29th Summer, Traverse City! Cheers!
