Make Dinner with Burritt’s Fresh Market

Last week, I stopped off at Burritt’s Fresh Market in Traverse City. It’s always been a favorite of mine, because every visit feels special. With a huge wine selection and wide array of local products, fresh beef, and daily fish deliveries, Burritt’s is your one-stop shop for all the best ingredients needed for a great meal. Whether it’s a bottle of wine or grocery essentials, Burritt’s has everything you need to make delicious meals at home.

Past their delightful offerings, the staff at Burritt’s are some of the most helpful and passionate people on the planet. Have you ever asked Sean or Lydia for a wine recommendation? It’s a must.

Amidst a global pandemic, it’s important for us to seize and create these special moments, even if it means just heading down the street to your favorite specialty grocery store. With just one trip to Burritt’s, and permission to have fun and be creative, you can make an incredible meal. Use my most recent experience to inspire your next locally sourced meal! We can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Herbed Crostini with Goat Cheese + Strawberry Salsa

Fresh Strawberries, diced with red onion, basil and a squeeze of lime juice. Goat Cheese from Idyll Farms, and Herbed Crostini from Crooked Tree Breadworks.

Mushrooms, Zucchini + Summer Squash with Breadcrumbs

Sauté mushrooms without oil in a pan, they will sweat out water and this keeps them from getting soggy! Then toss in some garlic, and pan roast the halved zucchini and summer squash.

Angus Beef Filets + Grilled Marinated Shrimp Skewers

Burritt’s is well-known for being a fresh fish market. They receive multiple fresh fish deliveries daily and even offer these delicious marinated shrimp skewers so you don’t even have to think about dinner. But did you know they also have cut-to-order, black Angus beef? It’s delicious, make sure the heat is on high enough to give a nice crust!

Arugula Salad with Lemon

Every produce item I purchased was local, including this beautiful Meadowlark arugula. The best thing about local produce is: you don’t have to try very hard. It already tastes delicious, and just a squeeze of lemon and sprinkling of salt will make these greens a great base or side to any meal.

The opportunities are endless at Burritt’s Fresh Market! What will you pick up on your next trip?
