Present Cooking Demo Series at the Ann Arbor Farmers Market

Ann Arbor Chefs Focus on Products Fresh from the Farmers that Come to the Market

Ann Arbor, MI  – The third Wednesday of each month from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., starting in May and running through October, is sure to be a crowd pleaser at the Ann Arbor Farmers Market (315 Detroit St, Ann Arbor, MI 48104). In partnership, edible Wow magazine and Taste the Local Difference have created a cooking demo series that focuses on the products that local farmers bring to the market.

During the event, Ann Arbor Chefs perform cooking demos using seasonal ingredients from vendors at the Ann Arbor Farmers Market. Attendees of the demos will have the opportunity to meet the chefs and learn how to create delicious recipes using local ingredients from the market. Tastings included with each demonstration.

“It is important to the values of edibleWOW that we provide opportunities through events such as this for the market goers. These events enhance their experience at the market by sharing the expertise of the local area chefs in a unique setting,” said Robb Harper, Publisher of edibleWOW.

Kicking off the series is Chef Ji Hye (Wednesday, May 16) from Miss Kim’s Korean Restaurant, who will be sharing her secrets for making fresh kimchi.

Series Featured Chefs include:

Chef Nic Simms of the Jefferson Market, June 20th

Chef Maggie Long of Jolly Pumpkin, August 15th

Chef Joel Panozzo of the Lunchroom and Detroit Filling Station, October 17th

Chef Bob Bennet of Zingerman’s Roadhouse July 18th

Chef Ji Hye of Miss Kim’s Korean Restaurant September 19th

In addition, Roos Roast Coffee will be on site providing free samples of their coffee that has been specially chosen to complement the chef’s dish that day. We also have a drawing for guests that includes a variety of items from our chefs, vendors, and sponsors.

Sponsorship opportunities are available.

About edibleWOW  Magazine
edibleWOW Magazine is your guide to the local foodshed in Southeastern Michigan. We’ve been telling the stories of this southeast Michigan farmers, food and beverage artisans, bakers, brewers and chefs for nearly 10 years. Our coverage area started with Wayne, Oakland, and Washtenaw counties—that’s where the WOW comes from—but we’ve expanded to include all of Southeast Michigan. Unlike traditional food magazines, we skip the highly personal food reviews and instead focus on the food producers. We believe that the farmer is as important as the chef, the bartender is as interesting as the brewer, and the local people who are changing the food system should be as famous as the Detroit Tigers.
