We’re Growing! Taste the Local Difference Expands

Exciting changes are coming to Taste the Local Difference this year! First, we are pleased to announce two new employees in West Michigan. Second, we will publish one statewide Local Food Guide in 2020. These changes will allow us to better serve our partners throughout the state as well as residents and tourists to Michigan.

After years of serving local food businesses throughout Northern Michigan, the Upper Peninsula, and Southeast to Mid Michigan, we are finally expanding into West Michigan. We have two new Local Food Coordinators: Devon Wilson in Battle Creek, and Annaliese Brown in Grand Rapids. (Stay tuned for upcoming introduction posts!) Our new hires will connect with farms, restaurants, and other local food businesses in Michigan’s fruit belt. These new partners will be listed in our online directory, printed 2020 Guide, and be able to opt into our marketing packages.

Not only are we expanding our team, but our 2020 Guide is getting a makeover! Instead of producing two Guides to Local Food, one for Northern Michigan and one for Southeast Michigan, we will produce one handy, statewide Local Food Guide. This Guide will be thicker than previous years and (finally!) include businesses in the West Michigan. Our 2020 guide will provide directories, maps, recipes, and feature stories highlighting local food businesses throughout Michigan.

Our team at Taste the Local Difference looks forward to serving all of Michigan and meeting new people along the way. Stay connected with us on social media or our monthly newsletter to follow our journey!
