Black Owned/Operated Farms in Michigan
Did you know that less than 2% of all farmers in the US are Black? We are celebrating these farm owners for many reasons – in part because of all the discriminatory land policies that followed emancipation to the present day (Here’s a great link for a brief history). Many people in our audience are making a more conscious effort to support Black-Owned Businesses. Here’s our list of Michigan Black owned/operated farms:
Good Medicine Farm
Georgia Street Community Collective
Keep Growing Detroit Farm
Mary Sam’s Gardens
Nurturing our Seeds
Oakland Avenue Urban Farm
Occupy Yourselves Agricultural Academy
