A Mighty Sunday Market: Redford Township Market at the Marquee

Situated within walking distance of city and county parks, The Redford Township Market at the Marquee offers an outdoor farmers market with the comforts of indoor shopping provided by its unique open air design. Beginning June 20th and running through October 17th, the farmers market will be open for shopping each Sunday from 10:00 am. to 3:00 pm. rain or shine just a mile west of the Rouge River and Eliza Howell Park.

You’ll find whatever you’re looking for at the open air space. Market goers can browse tables of over 25 local farmers and other vendors offering a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, honey, spices, teas, baked goods, pickles, homemade energy bars and nut butter, plants, candles, lotions and soaps, lip balms, and other artisanal craft items. There are even themes most weeks with raffle prizes, classes, guests, and more.

The Marquee was originally built as a library in the 1960’s with an addition in the 1970’s before being converted to a multi-use space in 2008. There is a fountain out front, an amphitheater, and beautiful flowers and hanging baskets surrounding the Marquee. The market isn’t the only reason to visit Redford Township’s city center. Managed by the Redford Township Downtown Development Authority, the Marquee plays host to a multitude of Township events like the annual Oktoberfest and Olde Fashioned Holidays festivals. The Marquee is also available to rent for family or private events.
